Cwejman PH-8 Four Phase Generator
Versatile Four Phase Generator Module
The Cwejman PH-8 is a powerhouse of a Eurorack module, ideal as the centre-piece for any sound design-based modular system. The PH-8 is the bigger sibling of the PH-4, boasting a wider selection of waveforms and additional outputs. The PH-8’s versatile design means it can be used as a premium-grade, full-range oscillator, as well as working as an LFO. It can handle quadratures and features an in-depth modulation control section with a wide range of precision attenuators.
In-Depth Modulation Control Centre
At the core of the PH-8 is an in-depth modulation control section which boasts a wide range of attenuators and parameters which you can use for a variety of applications. The PH-8 includes Offset, Amplitude, dual FM, Pulse Width, PWM Level, Offset Level and Ampl Level controls for optimal versatility. Its wide range of controls can be used for a number of purposes, from sound design to experimentation. It can be used with a range of other synth modules to transform your sound. You can select the frequency range of the module by switching between LFO and Audio ranges for optimal flexibility. The two potentiometers are designed to set the coarse and fine-tuning, allowing you to further shape your tone and style.
Quadrature Outputs
One of the most unique features of the PH-8 is the two sets of four quadrature outputs. The left outputs are comprised of 0, 90, 180 and 270 degrees, including a sine or triangle wave, which can be toggled via the two-position switch. The right outputs include the same phase outputs but for the pulse wave and sawtooth settings.
Design & Other Connectivity
The ergonomic layout allows you to find and easily change levels of each parameter, thanks to the precision attenuators. The robust switches allow you to toggle between varying waveforms for added experimentation, ideal for creating out-of-this-world sounds and tones. FM1 comes equipped with a polarizer, with FM2 including an attenuator. The FM 2 and 3 track one volt per octave. There is also connectivity for a range of parameters including offset, level, PWM, sync and more. There is even a trigger sync switch, allowing you to turn on triggering, for use with external modules. The bipolar DC offset and output level provide further possibilities of manual and voltage control. There is also a sync input for VCO applications.
