Collection: AKAI
Akai was founded by Masukichi Akai and his son, Saburo Akai as Akai Electric Company Ltd., a Japanese manufacturer in 1929 or 1946.
Akai's products included reel-to-reel audiotape recorders (GX), tuners (AT, TR, & TT), audio cassette decks (GX, TFL, TC, HX & CS), amplifiers (AM & TA), microphones, receivers, turntables, video recorders and loudspeakers.
The Akai MPC is a series of music workstations produced by Akai from 1988 onwards. MPCs combine sampling and sequencing functions, allowing users to record portions of sound, modify them and play them back as sequences.
In 2005, inMusic purchased the iconic brand: Akai Professional, one of the world’s most influential manufacturers of music production gear and creator of the legendary MPC. Harnessing the power of advancing technology, Akai Professional’s production tools remain staples of modern music both in the studio and on stage.
